Our Carnival entry in 2015 was ThunDAGbirds are Go! Featuring a pink Rolls Royce constructed by our mechanic Mike around one of our mobility scooters, driven by Parker, and carrying our secretary Carolyn as Lady Penelope.

She was accompanied by ThunDAGbird 1 built and driven by John, and our van carrying Thundagbird 2 built by Mike and driven by Tony, in appropriate uniform.

Their efforts were rewarded at Sturminster and Blandford Carnivals with first prizes in their respective classes, and the best dressed driver award for Tony  – a fantastic way to promote the charity to thousands of people, and at the same time give our hard-working volunteers the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and have a great time!

This year’s success follows carnival appearances every year since the Nightingale Court unit opened, including the 2013 ‘Dag Arrows’ and 2014 ‘World War I tribute’ featuring scooters as a tank and bi-plane.
